Now we get the world’s most popular and strongest female superhero in the DC world on the big screen Wonder Woman. The film tells the origin story of Wonder Woman, a story that any good comic book or superhero fan knows all too well.

Princess Diana

Diana, Daughter of Hippolyta, Princes of her homeland Themyscira. She was sculpted from clay by her mother Queen Hippolyta and given life by Aphrodite, along with superhuman powers as gifts from the Greek Gods. Wonder Woman’s Amazonian training helped to develop a wide range of extraordinary skills, she also possesses an arsenal of advanced technology, including the Lasso of Truth, a pair of indestructible bracelets, a tiara which serves as a projectile.

The story doesn’t really start until Diana meet Steve Trevor,an Office of United States Army who crash lands on Themyscira’s shores. It is Steven who then introduces Diana (Wonder Woman) to the  “Man’s World”, where she later adopts the identity, Diana Prince. She would later become known as a founding member of the Justice League, demigoddess, and Ambassador-at-Large of the Amazonian people.

The Movie

I must say the battle scene of the amazons was one of the best battle scenes in the film, it also helped to show that they were warriors. At the same time, it was kind of all over the place and the battle itself is hard to follow.

Diana is play by Israeli actress Gal Gadot, who comes across innocent and naive yet still knowledgeable. Of course I was please she had all of her iconic weapons. The lasso of truth and a pair of indestructible bracelet, yes she had a tiara, but it didn’t serve as a projectile. And I’m sad to say her invisible plane was not seen.

The best scene was probably the fight during with Ares that’s when she realize things aren’t always in black and white, and how to overcome sorrow and pain that was the message of the movie after all.

Speaking of Ares played by David Thewlis , had a bit of ananti-climactic character .  Also I can’t say I like the new story , whereby they make Diana Zeus’s child it had too much of a Hercules feel to it to me.

Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, did a great job andI think had the best line in the movie , it was his goodbye speech:

Diana: Whatever it is I can do it let me do it.

Steve: no, it has to be me. I can save today you can save the world. I don’t have anymore time I love you.

It was both very aspiring and romantic.

Finally let’s not forget Queen Hippolyta play by Connie Nielson, General Antiope play by Robin Wright, Etta Candy play by Lucy Davis’s and Steve’s unique trio play by Saïd Taghmaoui as Sameer, Ewen Bremner as Charlie and Eugene Brave Rock as The Chief ; who all did a great job.

I must note that while Wonder Woman was the name of the movie, the was never mentioned in the movie; interesting.
