Gravity Falls

Gravity Falls is a Disney XD series created by Alex Hirsch. The story revolves about a twin brother and sister Dipper and Mabel Pines who are spending the summer with their Great Grunkle Stan in Gravity Falls Oregon.

Their Grunkle Stan a con-artist runs the local tourist trap the Mystery Shack. Soon after arriving Dipper Pines discovers a mysterious book that reveals that Gravity Falls is actually a center for supernatural activity.

Needless to say that Dipper and Mabel end up solving weird paranormal mysteries from battling out with gnomes to keeping the undead at bay.

Supernatural for Kids

If you’re familiar with the series Supernatural, then the best comparison I have is to think of Gravity Falls as Supernatural for Kids. So instead of Sam and Dean, you have Dipper and Mabel.

While Gravity Falls might be a cartoon, some of the episodes can get a little scary and the plots are usually really grown up. Not to mention a lot of the comedy will go over the kids head.

I thoroughly enjoyed Gravity Falls and have watched the entire series twice already. If you haven’t watched it already, you can watch the series streaming on Hullu.
